The Kajiado District Development Trust
a former UK Charity Funding Water, Education & Health Projects in Southern Kenya was closed in June 2013. This web site records some of the work that was undertaken.
We were a small charity, based in the United Kingdom, providing Funding and Funding Assistance, together with Project Management for agreed local community projects in the Kajiado District of Southern Kenya.
The Trustees and all involved with the
charity would like to give a
to all those individuals, groups and organisations who have sponsored
the work in southern Kenya.
Much has been achieved since the formation of the trust in 1997 (and before that with the four individual village trusts). Collectively all the sponsors have raised over £200,000, since 1997, to assist the local communities of the Kajiado District of Kenya. Many local communities' lifestyles have been enhanced. Your monies have helped to provide safe & secure water, schools, churches, multi-use buildings, famine relief, books, sports equipment etc.
A BIG THANK YOU also to our partners in Kenya.
Both of the above organisations are based near Isinya, Kenya. They will be continuing their work in the Kajiado district of Kenya. If you would like to sponsor any of their work directly please contact them at the following address:
Kajiado District Development Organisation (KDDO)
c/o Maasai Rural Training Centre, PO Box 24, Isinya. Kenya.
The following are just some examples of what we have achieved.
SAFE WATER: One of our major commitments has been providing funding for the provision of safe water supplies for the local communities of the Kajiado District. This has involved the provision of water catchments, shallow wells and water tanks and associated items.
Please see pictures on the right and below.
To help in the work we provided monies for the provision of equipment including a Drilling Rig, Water Survey equipment and a 4WD vehicle. Money for these items was provided by Rotary clubs in UK and Europe.
BUILDINGS, EDUCATION SUPPLIES, & FAMINE RELIEF:
With the help of our sponsors we have been able to provide funding for the provision schools plus some churches. Many of these being for multi-use purposes all for the benefit of the local community. We have also provided education supplies and in times of particular hardship Famine Relief.
Please see pictures below.
