Our History.

After a working trip to Kenya, in 1988, with a group from St. Mark's Church in Gillingham, Kent (England), Roger Milton (our Project Director) initiated the setting up of four separate village trusts.  These were subsequently registered, in the UK, as four separate charities.

One of the places visited during this trip was the village of Oloilalei (in the Kajiado District of Kenya).  The picture, on the right, was taken at Oloilalei at that time and shows some of the local people.

The Kajiado District Development Trust, also known as KDDT[UK], was registered as a charity in 1997.

It took over the outstanding responsibilities of the separate village trusts.  It was formed to enable all the monies collected to be used in the wider Kajiado District of southern Kenya rather than that allowed for by the deeds of the smaller trust funds.  The earlier village trusts have now been disbanded.
