SAFE WATER?

One of our major commitments is funding the provision of safe water supplies for the local communities of the Kajiado District.  The picture below shows the sort of Drilling Rig we have available.  We are also involved with the provision of water catchments.  Please click on the picture on the left for details of what we have been involved in.

Since 1997 over £180,000 has been given by our sponsors* to assist the local communities of the Kajiado District of southern Kenya.  Much has been achieved, much is still to be done.  Click on the "How You Can Help" button above for details of how you to can help.

*This includes Gift Aid contributions from the UK government & interest payments.

Thank you to all past and present sponsors of our work in Southern Kenya.  Much has been achieved but there is still a great need in many areas.

Projects Supported by KDDT[UK] have included:

  • The provision of safe & secure water sources.

  • Provision of Schools, Churches and multi-purpose buildings.

  • Provision of desks, books and other school equipment.

  • Relief aid when and where appropriate.

If you would like to receive a DVD showing some of the projects we have been

Latest News

In February 2011 we provided funding for a large Water Storage Tank and Rock Catchment to harvest rain water at Eroyiet Olasho (Najile).  This work has now been completed (by April 2011).  This will benefit approximately 400 people.

This was mainly sponsored by  a couple in memory of their son plus a local community group in Kent.  Additional monies, provided by another married couple, enabled the provision of a Plastic Water tank for a local school to harvest rain water from its roof.
